Clinical Psychologist Dr Liz Dawes

Dr Liz Dawes, clinical psychologist, is the founder and clinical director of Every Mind Child Psychology, a clinic which celebrates neurodiversity, offering strength-based diagnostic assessment and neuro-affirming therapy for autistic children and those with ADHD. Since qualifying over 14 years ago from Oxford University, Liz has specialised in working with neurodivergent children and their families, including those with a diagnosis of autism and ADHD. She worked in Australia with internationally renowned experts in autism, Dr Michelle Garnett and Prof. Tony Attwood, offering diagnostic assessments and leading therapy groups. Since moving back to the UK, Liz has remained passionate about working with neurodivergent young people and their families. Dr Liz has seen the power of neuroaffirming approaches in helping young people to recognise their strengths, increasing self esteem, and promoting healthy mental health. Liz is passionate about increasing awareness of neuroaffirming approaches, especially helping parents to approach their parenting challenges through this lens. Liz founded Nurturing Neurotypes with Dr Kerstin with the aim of helping parents to adopt this approach, and learning about neurodivergence through this child-centred and affirming model.
